Become an Expert at Speaking
Does anybody really have anything new to say? There is no end to the number of people who enjoy bringing their expertise to the platform. There will always be an audience who will want to hear your good ideas communicated uncommonly well in an uncommon way. Your challenge as a speaker is to figure out how to do that.
Here are some starter tips on how to become an expert at speaking:
1. Study the best. Choose a topic that you love to speak on and that others need to hear about. Then listen to those who are either most successful in that area, most gifted, or both. Some speakers who get paid very well for their information may not necessarily have outstanding delivery styles. Content is always king, but all speakers should deliver their talk with eloquence. I tell my
professional speaker clients that they will be hired for their content, but paid for their delivery!
2. Listen to tapes, videos, DVD’s – and attend lectures when possible. Expose yourself to as many speakers and styles as you can. You can learn from everyone, the good and the bad. Listen with an ear that helps you to know
what you like best about the speaker’s presentation and what you like least. How can you use this to make you better at the platform.
3. Practice for Free. Don’t charge for your first speech. There are many service and business networking clubs looking for speakers every week. Check the clubs in your area (ex: Rotary, Lions, Leads, Chamber of Commerce, church
groups) and contact the program chairs to speak to their groups. Speaking often is critical to your development as a sought after speaker. I encourage my clients to speak for free often as they are building their speaking careers. The
audience will tell you what your best material is and this will help you hone your skills so that you can eventually be a paid speaker with groups that have budgets.
4. Get feedback. Interview clients and friends who can provide you with input about the value of your topic(s) as well as your content and delivery style. After you speak to a group, verbally get some feedback from a few attendees.
You can do this with a phone call or email. Better yet, provide your audience with an evaluation form. I always encourage my clients to do this and include a line that says: “Do you know of any other groups who would benefit from this
program?” “If so, may I call you to get that information?” Be sure to include a line that requires their name and phone number.
5. Get good, and then get better. Even the best, at the top of their game, keep working at doing it better, doing it differently, keeping their material current and interesting. There is always room for improvement. Don’t rest on your
commercial success alone. Always be present for “breakthroughs.” You never know when the next one is around the corner. How do you get better? Hire a speaker coach, like me ,and get out there and speak, speak, speak!

1. Know the value of the product before you bid. If the
productis brand new, check to see what price retailers are
charging for it. Only by doing this will you have any idea what
price to bid. If the item is used or reconditioned, you will
want to pay way less than the retail value.
2. If the product’s description or picture isn’t detailed enough
for you, contact the merchant to get more information before you
bid. You don’t want to take a chance to waste your hard earned
money. Not only this but the way in which the seller responds,
ie promptly, pleasantly, and with full details, or the opposite
of this, will give you more confidence about bidding or you may
decide not to bid at all.
3. Work out the highest price you will bid for the product and
stick with it. Don’t get caught up in a bidding war; you may end
up paying more than the product is worth. Add in all the
possible extras such as the shipping costs and any import duties
and taxes (if buying from abroad).
4. Visit a few online auctions before bidding because some
merchants auction the same product on different auction sites.
You may be able to purchase the product for a lower price in an
unpopular auction because there are less bidders.
5. Take a note of the time the auction begins and ends. You also
want to know how long it will take to ship. You need to have
this information if you want the product by a certain date, for
instance, as a gift.
6. Find out about the payment options the merchant accepts
before you bid on their item. If they only accept checks or
money orders, it may take even longer to get the product because
the payment has to clear. If they accept credit cards make sure
they have a secure server
7. Check whether the merchant offers a warranty or money back
guarantee before bidding. You don’t want to get stuck with
something that does not work or that you’re not satisfied with.
8. Most online auctions allow you to check the merchants’
history with their auction. This is usually their “Feedback”
record. Check to see if people have complained about their
products or business practices before you decide to bid
9. Don’t place a bid early in the auction as this only alerts
other potential bidders that you are interested and drives up
the price. Wait until the last moments of an auction before
bidding if you can. Naturally enough the auction site owners
will exhort you to bid early as this is in their best interests,
after all, they get more in fees the more an item makes.
Remember not to go over your maximum bid price.
10. Following on from 9 above this is another reason to know
when the auction ends; you can place a last minute bid. Other
bidders may not be keeping track of when the auction ends or may
not have the time to bid again.

As you learn more about nutrition you also learn the importance of elimination. What goes in, must come out. Your body is a well oiled machine that takes what it needs from what you feed and eliminates the rest through urine and the bowels. This is not something to be taken lightly, many people do have a problem with elimination, and if you are one of them, you should seek counsel through a nutritional therapist or naturopathic physician.
1. Do you know how many bowel movements (BM) a normal healthy person should have each day? Most people guess that 1 BM per day is good for regulation. One BM is ‘okay’, but it is not optimal. There are a lot of people who only have 1 BM per week, or 2 per month. This is not normal, there is a problem. The correct answer is that a normal healthy person should experience 2-3 BM’s per day, and more if they eat more often.
2. We live in a fast paced society, some would call us the ‘microwave’ generation. We don’t have time to use the bathroom too often, and many of us would prefer to be ‘home’ when we have a BM, urine we don’t mind using public bathrooms, but if we need to do the other, we’d prefer to go home!
3. To keep your colon and bowel healthy, you should eliminate several times per day, ideally not long after each meal. If you do, you will make your colon very happy.
4. Some tricks to doing this is eating plenty of raw fruits and vegetables, steamed beets are good, and also using digestive enzymes with each meal.
Supplementation:
1. There is a ton of information on the web today about food supplements. In fact there is so much information out there, that a person could get very confused about what to take, and might be taking too many different supplements or not the right supplements that their bodies need.
2. The truth is, that we absolutely cannot get the nutrients we need from the foods we eat today. There are a myriad of reasons why we cannot, but suffice it to say, mostly it is because of poor farming practices and foods being picked before they are ripe.
3. When you look for vitamins and minerals, look for some that are food based and not produced by a pharmaceutical company. These vitamins are hard on your digestive system and make it difficult for your body to absorb and utilize.
4. Here are a list of basic supplements that our bodies need according to the scientists and researches who are trying their hardest to help us stay healthy:
a. Vitamins & Minerals
b. Fats & Lipids
c. Proteins (amino acids)
d. Essential Carbohydrates (supplemental, not in diet)

Building a successful web site is a process that works best when done in a deliberate, logical step-by-step manner. The first step is to build a top quality web site that is packed with interesting and useful content.
Next, you need to submit your site to the major directories and begin a well thought out advertising campaign.
But the single most important step is getting a top ranking in the major search engines, most notably Google and MSN.
When ranking the sites in their index, Google places a very high importance on “link popularity”, that is the sites that have the most high-quality incoming links generally rank higher in Google. Getting links to your site from other sites is an absolute must for a top ranking in Google and the other top search engines (top 10 at a minimum).
The question that you may be asking is “How do I get these links?”. There are many ways to attain links to your web site, but it can be very difficult for new sites to get other sites to link to them.
There’s a simple way to jump-start the process however. It’s called “reciprocal linking”. This is how it works: You search for sites that are in the same general topic area as yours (but not sites that compete directly). After you find a list of suitable link exchange partners, you place a link to their site on your site. Then you email the webmasters of the other sites and ask for a link exchange.
Do not send generic copies of the same email to each webmaster however. Rather, take a few minutes to browse each site. Then write a personalized email to the webmaster explaining what you liked about the site (be specific) and why you think a link exchange would benefit both parties.
Be sure to address the webmaster by name if at all possible. Also, be sure to give him your link exchange information. This should include the title of your site, a short description, and the URL that you want his site to link to (this doesn’t have to be the home page). And be sure to include the URL of the page that already has his reciprocal link on it.
After you have sent the emails, expect a few rejections for various reasons. This is normal and expected so don’t be at all discouraged. You will also quickly get a few emails from webmasters accepting your offer. Verify that your reciprocal link is in fact on their sites and then send a “thank you” email.
A great way to find potential link partners is to do a Google search on one of your main keywords or phrases. You will most likely have many pages of sites listed in the search results.
Here is a simple way to find out which of these sites actively exchange links: Go to the bottom of the Google search results page. Click on “Search within results”. In the text box type in “Add URL”. This will return only the sites in your original search results listings that have an “Add URL” link on their web site. You can also do a search for “link exchange”.
If you aggressively pursue link exchanges on a regular basis, within a few short months you’ll have built up good rankings in the search engines with a steady flow of targeted traffic to your web site!

How many times have you heard that curb appeal is half the sale? Why is it that certain ethnic groups are so keen at using tiles and marbles, whereas others prefer hardwoods and plaster? What’s the scoop behind the trend of new construction – more bedrooms, more bathrooms, higher ceiling clearance? What makes a neighborhood trendy? Why is it that fashionable colors, all of a sudden, are no longer fashionable? In essence, what is it that drives innovation and change in real estate?
Gianni Versace (1946 – 1997), perhaps the most famous Italian stylist and designer of contemporary times, and Andy Warhol (1928 – 1987), one of the major figures of the American Pop Art movement, both had an innate knowledge of one of the most profound tenets of economics, that is the production of wealth comes not simply from labor or raw materials or even intellectual brilliance. It comes from new ways to give people what they want. By matching creativity and desire, the economy will renew itself. Thus, it is imperative to abandon prejudices regarding the sources of economic value.
It follows, that manufacturing and technology generate wealth only when they make matter and information serve human desire. Desire is the true source of economic value, and the motor behind demand. So, to exploit any market – being fashion design as in the case of Versace or Pop Art as in the case of Warhol – since people want pleasure, those who bring pleasure will make the economy go, because what is bringing pleasure is anticipated status enhancement. This rule of thumb applies all the more in a big-ticket industry such as real estate.
Contrary to what most of us believe, humans do not make rational decisions, at least not pre-eminently but, rather, their conclusions are rooted into deeper sources of motivation located well within the realm of sub-consciousness. Marketers already seem to know a lot about how consumers think, but recent experiments in neuroscience have captured the full attention of Corporate America and Corporate Japan. New scanning techniques are making it easier to determine how our minds work and creating hopes in the corporate world, that companies can finally figure out how consumers are wired so as to establish new connections with customers. And the field of real estate sales is at the forefront of this scientific research.
The breakthrough behind all this is the development of functional magnetic resonance imaging or ‘fMRI’, the latest in neuroimaging technology, which displays not only the structures of the brain but also how they actually function by measuring blood flow. And the corporate world is particularly interested in how neuroimaging can be applied to study empathy, trust, deception, emotional communication, body language and generally speaking all issues that are central to human existence and interaction. Decision-making is, of course, at the top of the list.
Research, especially in real estate, indicates that consumers love novelties and, what’s more, can create novelties. Consumers are not mere passive recipients of goods and services but, rather, active producers as well. The reason is that at the basis of production and consumption there is human imagination and desire for novelty. Furthermore, when people actually ‘own’ novelties in the form of goods, they set about to convince others that the possession of such novelties shows that they have achieved a higher status, and that if others were clever enough to do what they did or to possess the same things that they have, then the others too could achieve high status and enjoy all the good things that come from it.
The continuous interaction between desire and demand on one side, and production and supply on the other side, is what rejuvenates and regenerates real estate markets through trends and innovation over and over again.

It has been said: since there is no true condition described by non-existence then the universe can only have always existed. The physical universe is described by the word – reality: The non-physical universe is described by the word – imaginary. The fundamental substance of which the universe consists is described as being matter and its energy: there is no evidence that these are substantially different. Since the universe has always existed the matter and energy of the universe has likewise always existed. This fact demands that the naturally occurring relationships existing within and between matter and its energy have likewise always existed. The relationships existing naturally within and between real physical things are referred to as being the naturally occurring physical phenomenon of reality. Philosophically these relationships are studied by the science of metaphysics.
Real things can relate with one another only in ways allowed by their identities. Some of these relationships have been discovered and others remain yet to be discovered. (1) Some of these relationships don’t result in change. (2) Some relationships are of an electro-chemical nature and (3) some of these are self-sustaining (that is they attract the energy resources from the universe necessary for their electro-chemical relationships to continue). And then (4) some of these relationships retain the by-products produced by its electro-chemical reactions where upon it grows and expands. The first is inert nature; the second includes all chemical reactions; the third includes the electro-magnetic gravitational subsystem that is necessary to identify these electro-chemical reactions as the “processes of life” and the last defines what a living-organism is.
The self-sustaining self-generated electro-chemical relationships know of as being the processes-of-life are a naturally occurring aspect of the universe and therefore; like the universe, have also always existed. Life describes a specific kind of naturally occurring eternally existing electro-chemical energy process taking place within the universe between the fundamental physical substance of the universe know of as: matter (and its energy). This is often referred to as the life-processes that are naturally occurring within all biological organisms. Life is innate action and this compels its earthly host to enact specific acts of self-preservation in its life’s benefit. But within the universe the processes of life may be described by additional factors.
A. Life describes a self-sustaining energy process. Life attracts the energy resources from nature necessary for the continued functioning of its own electro-chemical processes.
B. Life describes an energy consumption process. Life consumes the energy resources it has attracted from nature.
C. Life describes a matter conversion process. Life converts the material energy resources it has consumed from nature into new substances which are then released back into nature.
D. Life describes a self-generation process. Life grows, expands and replicates itself by causing its host to perform specific acts of self-preservation and reincarnation
Humans have physical and intellectual components that must be in harmony and functioning “normally” if they are going to continue to survive. Like plants humans sense reality. Unlike plants humans must make judgments about what they are sensing. These judgments must be accurate; they must correspond with what reality is if man’s goal is survival – and it is. When a human volitionally applies his mind to the task of interrogating reality by applying reasoned logic to it he will discover two fundamentally different things about what the nature of reality is: 1) things live and 2) things don’t live.
Things that live possess an additional distinguishing characteristic which things that don’t live lack. Humans hold as a fact of nature that this characteristic is the fundamental distinguishing characteristic of the physical universe. Humans comprehend since they are identified as a living-organism they then possess this additional distinguishing characteristic. This additional distinguishing characteristic is of such significance to both the fact of their living existence and the requirements of their continued existence that it has been assigned the word life in-order to gather more information about it.
Since life does exist as the first observed difference of the physical universe: And since all things of the universe are explained by whatever substance the universe actually consists of: And since; at the fundamental level, the substance of the universe is explained by whatever matter its energy and their electro-chemical relationships are: Then matter its energy and their electro-chemical relationships (at some specific point) explain what life is.
Humans must achieve the values their life processes require or these will cease functioning and its human host will die. This requires that humans think about what value is in-order to discover what their life processes require for their continued eternal survival. Metaphysically: Life is the fundamental distinguishing characteristic in the real universe. Epistemologically: Value is its intellectual incarnation. Value is the mental integration of what life’s existence means to a living-things continued existence. Life is metaphysical fact; Value is its epistemological fact. The fact that life exists physically creates the fact that value exists intellectually. Life and value are as one.
Value is a dependent concept. Value is identifiable only by the fact that life exists. Value is dependent on life for its proper identification. Life is an end in itself; life describes what life is and requires. Life requires itself in-order to continue existing. The requirements of life are the values necessary for its continued existence. Here since the first requirement of life is its own continued existence; then, its-self is its supreme-value. Contrarily: If life is not the supreme in values this means that it does not serve ones purpose to act for the continued existence of ones own life. This being the case the life processes going on within oneself will fail and one will die.
Life requires that the electro-chemical processes it describes continue functioning. In the universe these are naturally occurring process; they will continue to occur as long as there is matter (and its energy). However within a living-being its life processes have become “dependent” energy processes. The processes described by life going on within living-beings are dependent on that being’s “proper actions.” And these are determined by the energy resources necessary to keep that being’s life processes functioning. This is the principle of causality - The goal determines the actions necessary for its achievement. The identity of the actor determines what acts he is able to perform. If an actor’s identity does not enable him to perform the actions required for the achievement of a particular goal; that goal will remain unachieved by that actor.
Helping other lives to achieve their goal of continued survival is not a necessity in-order for ones own life to achieve that same goal. The primary goal of life’s electro-chemical processes is not the survival of other life processes; it is the survival of its own life processes. This is not to say that cooperating with another to mutual benefit is wrong. As a matter of fact mutually beneficial acts are good and proper human acts and ought to be undertaken; but only when a mutual benefit actually does exist.
Life is an absolute. This means that life is not; it cannot be considered to be, what it is not. Life can only be what it is. Aristotle put it this way: A=A. Meaning that life is (can only be) true to what its identity is: in-fact. This defines what a true thing is. When we say a thing is true we are saying that it is always what it is in relation to what physical reality is; it is a fact of reality. Statements about what is true about reality are called truths; or true statements about what is real; i.e., about what is factual. These are often referred to as factual statements.
Since life is absolute; purpose, meaning and value (when properly defined) are absolutely true. Since life is defined as a naturally occurring and eternally existing phenomenon of the physical universe; this says that it is not proper to re-define life as being or having purpose, meaning or value. It is only proper to say that these exist by the result of the fact that life does exist. Since your life exists: purpose, meaning and value result from that fact. You’re life’s existence validates that purpose, meaning and value do exist. All that reminds is to “properly” define these words.
I differentiate a “living” chemical-organism from a living-being by the word biological. In each case the life processes occurring within each remain the same. Life is a naturally occurring eternally existing electro-chemical aspect of the physical universe. In the case of a chemical-organism the processes of life occurring within it are not dependent on the physical characteristics of that “living” chemical-organism. However in the case of a living-being the life processes occurring within it are dependent upon the physical characteristics of its host.
Again: The means of survival for the life of chemical-organisms is not dependent on the physical characteristics of the organism. The processes of life occurring within chemical-organisms directly attract the energy resources from nature required for the continued functioning its electro-chemical processes. It is required that chemical-organisms possess some type of electro-gravitational system to attract the required natural resources for the continued functioning of its life processes. These energy resources are converted by its life processes into the structure (the body) of the chemical-organism within which they are functioning and upon which the organism grows and expands. The primary example of a “living” chemical-organism is our own sun.
Biological-organisms are sensual in their nature. The means for the continued survival of the life processes of biological-beings is dependent on the physical characteristics of the biological-organism. The life of a biological-being depends on the “proper” or “moral” actions (the virtuous acts) of the organism for the energy resources required by and for its electro-chemical processes. It is said that a biological-being must seek and acquire the energy resources from nature its life’s electro-chemical energy processes require in-order to continue functioning. The electro-magnetic gravitational system possessed by chemical-organisms has evolved into the “energy-resource sensing system” which biological-beings must possess and to which they must respond in-order to supply their life’s energy processes with the natural resources it requires from nature to continue functioning
You’re biological-being evolved from the naturally occurring eternally existing electro-chemical relationships of matter and its energy in the universe which holds the definition of what a “living” chemical-organism is. In the universe life’s continued existence is an absolute; it will always continue to exist. However; within your body life’s existence is dependent upon you (its biological host) to act properly with respect to its needs of survival. Meaning you must “act properly” in-order to supply your life’s energy processes with the values necessary for their continued functioning. This fact of survival for the life which biological-beings possess identifies what “proper” human action is. Meaning: It is proper for a human being to act to the benefit of the continued functioning of his own life processes. One either lives in accordance to what their life’s energy processes require or they will stop functioning and that one will die.
Living biological-organisms evolved directly from living chemical-organisms which evolved directly from the processes of life occurring within the fundamental substance of the universe defined by matter (and its energy). Notice: The natural resources required for the continued functioning of life’s electro-chemical processes remains unaltered wherever it is found (life is absolute). The idea of what a living-organism is must necessarily include the phrase “as it exists wherever it is found within the entire physical universe” if that idea is to be an accurate identification of “that which possess life.” However: If this living-organism has evolved into a biological-being in the sense of what we call plants and animals here on earth then we must additionally specify that we are referencing a living-organism as being only those possessing life’s electro-chemical processes “here on earth.” For this is the extent of our current knowledge of what biological-beings are.
Visit any graveyard. Every person buried there did previously possess the energy processes described by life or they would not be there. Death (the loss of life’s energy processes) cannot be discussed absent the life processes it references. However the definition of life describes a naturally occurring eternally existing electro-chemical phenomenon of the physical universe. Meaning that life has always existed in the universe and will always continue to exist; it is not only possible to speak of life apart from death it is proper to do so.
Now notice this very important fact: All biological-beings eventually die. What then does the concept of “proper” mean relative to this fact? Since it is a fact that every living-being here on earth will eventually die does this say that biological beings are not (cannot be considered to be) a “proper host” for life? Absolutely not! Why not? It is because of the principle of “proper action.” What does the principle of “proper action” say? Proper action is any action that results in preserving the electro-chemical processes described by life. Every living-organism of the universe (which includes human beings) exists still by result of the principle of “proper action.”
In each instance where a specific type of growing and expanding electro-chemical process exists; these energy processes are defined as the life processes of a living-organism. Living chemical-organisms are able to continue to exist simply because they possess some type of a naturally functioning electro-magnetic gravitational system which does attract the energy resources required for the continued survival of their life’s electro-chemical energy processes. Living biological-organisms continue to exist because they possess a natural resource sensing system.
The principles of “Proper Action” are defined as those actions which result in the continued eternal survival of life’s energy processes. And this leads to the identification of the “laws of nature.” The principles defined as “The Laws of Nature” are determined by the physical characteristics of life’s host. Again: The energy resources required for a living-organisms energy processes determine which actions are “proper” for their gain; and the characteristics of its physical nature determines if those actions are “natural” to it. Proper actions will continue to be defined by life’s requirements as long as matter and its energy continue to act in accordance to their identity; and they always will. This says that the laws determining a thing’s natural survival acts are discovered by observing that thing as it exists naturally (and in the case of humans; rationality) in the universe. Each living-organism’s physical identity (and again in the case of humans; their rationality) determine the laws of nature governing the continued eternal existence of the life it possesses.
In each instance where life’s processes are occurring within a biological-being this necessitates the identification of “additional” Laws of Nature if those life processes are to continue functioning for the remainder of eternity. This means that since biological-hosts do eventually die they must successfully perform some type of life preserving function prior to their death or; upon their death, their life’s energy processes will vanish; forever. Upon their death the chemical by-products previously produced by their life’s electro-chemical processes will remain but the life processes which produced them will stop functioning. Therefore it can properly be said that the continued existence of living biological-organisms does not depend on the continued existence of the life processes they possess: Contrarily; the continued eternal existence of life’s energy processes which they possess depend upon their “proper actions” for its continued functioning. Therefore the reincarnation of their life by some type of procreation is an additional required “law of nature” existing naturally within all biological-beings on this earth and wherever else biological-beings may occur in the entire “living” universe.
The life processes of a biological-organism can be saved only when that living organism successfully creates another or an additional biological-organism directly from the living materials of its own body. This is the derivation of the word offspring. Living organisms spring-off (or produce) additional living organisms from their physical living existence. Human offspring are a direct result of the principle of “proper action” as it is applied to the requirements for the continued existence of the life possessed by human beings. Human beings result naturally from the joining together of a human egg and a human sperm. Sperm and eggs are composed of the matter and energy of the living being from which they originate; they extend that beings living existence into the future. Thus the product resulting from the “off springing” (i.e., the recreation; or the reincarnation) of their life by human beings is responsible for determining the proper definition of the words: purpose, meaning and value by demonstrating that a continuous living relationship exists between human beings and the naturally occurring eternally existing electro-chemical relationships of the universe which are identified by the word - life.

Have you seen the Might Mouse? No, I do not mean the super hero. I mean the
latest innovation by Apple computers– the Mighty Mouse. The mighty mouse is
unlike any mouse you’ve ever seen before.
The Mighty Mouse works directly with the latest version of the Macintosh
operating system to provide many advanced features. However, using the Mighty
Mouse with a Macintosh is not the subject of this article. This article focuses on
exactly what you can expect when using the Mighty Mouse with a Windows based
PC
Introducing the Mighty Mouse
The mighty mouse is a smoothly designed white oval. To me it looks like 1/2 of
a tic-tac(tm) candy. It fits nicely in your hand and is very easy to maneuver. It is an
optical mouse, and thus has no roller-ball. This allows the mouse to be operated on
a variety of surfaces. There are no visible buttons. However, if you click near the
front left or right of the mouse, you will produce a left or right click.
There are also two buttons on the sides of the mouse. These buttons operate
together. If you press both buttons– effectively squeezing the mouse, it allows you
to select text, of perform some other custom operation. These two buttons are not
functional when using Windows. I rarely use the “squeeze buttons” on the
Macintosh, so I don’t miss them too much on Windows.
Perhaps the best feature on the Mighty Mouse is the scroll ball. This looks like a
single Cyclops eye at the top of the mouse. The scroll ball is small, about the size of
a pea. Because it is so small you can roll it with very little pressure on your figure.
The scroll bar allows you to scroll the current window in all four directions.
Unfortunately, when used with a PC, the scroll ball allows no movement of the
horizontal scroll bar.
The Mighty Mouse uses a USB interface. There is currently not a wireless version
of the Mighty Mouse available. Additionally, no PS/2 converter is provided. To
connect the Mighty Mouse to a PS/2 port will require you to purchase a PS/2
converter.
Windows Drivers
Installing the drivers is a snap. There are no drivers for Windows. The Mighty
Mouse works like any other USB mouse. Simply plug it into your Windows computer
and it is ready to go. A reboot is not even required.
Unsupported Features in Windows
The Mighty Mouse was designed with the Macintosh in mind. As a result, some
of its features do not work on Windows. For me, the most missed feature is
horizontal scrolling. On a Macintosh you can scroll in all four directions using the
scroll-ball. On Windows you can only scroll vertically.
There are other features that are not available on Windows. However, I do not
miss these as much as the four-way scrolling. The two side buttons do not function
on Windows. On the Macintosh these can select text or be assigned to other
functions. Additionally, the left mouse button can be reassigned to other functions
on the Macintosh.
Conclusions
At home I work primarily with a Macintosh, and would not be without my
Mighty Mouse. Being able to scroll in all four directions without moving the mouse
is very handy. I was so fond of this device that I bought a second Mighty Mouse to
use at work. At work I use a Windows XP based PC.
The same feel of the ergonomically designed mouse is obviously still present,
and much appreciated. But not being able to scroll horizontally is unfortunate. On
the Macintosh the four-way scrolling is one of the key features of the Mighty
mouse. For this feature to be missing on the Windows side is disappointing.
However, despite this limitation I believe that the Mighty Mouse is still one of
the best mouse choices, even in the PC world.

So you’re into gaming, and you’re looking to turn that shabby computer into a gaming powerhouse? You don’t necessarily need an expensive gaming computer though, you just need some decent gaming hardware.
If you don’t exactly know what gaming hardware is, I’ve put together a guide explaining what it takes to have a gaming computer. You don’t necessarily need all of these components, so I’ve broken them down by level of importance.
3D Video Card
First and foremost, if you have to have a decent video card to play the latest 3D games. You can have the best computer around, but if it has a cheap video card, 3D games will appear to run as slow as if you had a slow computer. You don’t necessarily need the latest video card, because at the rate they come out it will be outdated in a few months anyway.. unless of course you have $500 burning a hole in your pocket and you really want to.
CPU
Since your CPU is the heart of the computer, this one is kind of obvious. Like most things, you don’t need the fastest CPU around, but if you want a real gaming computer, you’ll want something at or around 3 gigahertz (or 3000+ for you AMD enthusiasts).
You’ll also want something that has a fast front side bus. It’s usually best to find a motherboard and cpu that have similar front side bus speeds, because they work together, and the overall speed of the front side bus will only be as fast as the one with the slowest speed on it. It’s kind of like driving a sports car on a highway with a 55 mile per hour speed limit, the car might be able to go 155, but the highway will only let you go 55.
Memory
Also known as Ram, it’s what applications and games use to store information, the more the better. It’s good to have at least 512 Megabytes, but real gamers have 750 megabytes, to 1 Gigabyte or more. Memory is extremely cheap these days, it’s one of the cheapest and simplest upgrades you can do.
It’s not only the amount that matters though, they also come in different speeds. DDR2 is the fastest, cheapest memory you can get right now. If you have SDRam, you’ll probably want to upgrade your motherboard and CPU so you can have faster memory. It’s kind of drastic, but your games will most likely be sluggish if your equipment is that old. Regular DDR is good enough for gaming, it just doesn’t have the throughput that DDR2 does.
Motherboards
Today’s fastest motherboards have faster Front Side Bus. The Front Side Bus (or FSB) is essentially the highway that runs from the CPU to the Ram, the bigger the highway, the more traffic it can handle at once, making calculations faster. Another thing to watch out for is what kinds of hard drives it supports. If you want SATA or SCSI drives, either your motherboard needs to support them, or you need to purchase an expansion card to plug them into. You’ll also want a motherboard that supports the fastest computer memory you can get, which is currently DDR2.
Hard Drives
Hard drive speed may not sound important, but it can be one of many bottle necks that your computer runs into if it’s not up to par with the rest of your computer. If you purchase regular IDE hard drives, you’ll want at least 7200 rpm (rpm = rotations per minute, the more rotations the faster the drive).
If you want real speed though, you’ll want a Serial ATA hard drive (SATA), which is one of the fastest hard drives you can get without buying server grade hard drives (SCSI), which are pretty expensive. Your motherboard has to support SATA or SCSI though if you plan to purchase these kinds of hard drives, or you have to have a PCI expansion card to plug them into.
Sound Card
If you want gaming quality sound, then you definitely need to replace that stock or built in sound card for a decent gaming sound card. And if you want the full effect, go for a dolby 5.1 surround sound enabled sound card for that super crisp sound your games can produce. Mix that with some 5.1 enabled speakers, and your gaming experience just took a new turn.
Computer Cases
Ok, so computer cases aren’t that important for speed, but if you want your new gaming computer to look slick too, then you need a nice colored case. Your friends will be jealous, and you will finally be able to look at your computer and smile, because it looks so awesome.

Ask any famous person that achieved greatness what they did that was different - they would tell you they made their goals realistic and took action. The rest is history. Napoleon Hill stated “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” He used a positive mental attitude and the use of small, realistic steps to achieve greatness. He went from a poor beginning in a log cabin to one of the best selling authors and an advisor to congressmen, presidents and so on. W. Clement Stone took $100 and with this same use of creating realistic steps and taking action he built one of the largest multi million dollar insurance companies in America.
They may not have the current publicity or notoriaty of Donald Trump, Dale Earnhardt or similar, but they came from much humbler starts. Donald Trump was born into a real estate magnate family. Dale Earnhardt was born into a established race car family in Kannapolis North Carolina. Now thats not to say that Donald Trump and Dale Earnhardt are not great people (Dale Earnhardt formed one of the largest and winningest Nascar teams and was very philanthropic and helped a lot of people through his charitable activities). What I am getting at here is that most of us don’t have magnates or millions in our families, but that in no wy means we cannot achieve greatness, riches beyond our wildest dreams, etc… Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone actually started with much less and in worse times and conditions than we have ever known (the great depression era).
What drove Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone to greatness was two things. (1)They planned realistic steps to reach attainable goals (baby steps). They didn’t just wake up one day and say my only goal is to be rich and retire tomorrow. They made plans and kept slowly raising the bar every time they would attain one of their goals. (2)They took action. You wouldn’t believe how many times I hear people state all the things they are going to do or would like to do. I recently attended a young Cornell Alumni meeting where the talk was mostly about grand future plans, or what they would like to do but they don’t have time, the conditions aren’t right, etc… You have to start somewhere. If you take too big of a step you will probably become defeated and not continue. It is better to take small attainable steps. Each time you attain one of these steps or your goal raise the bar a little. It will slowly move you closer to your dream and give you a great boost in self confidence. You have to plan out little baby steps and then you have to take action. This will seperate you from everyone else - the majority of people live life day to day, pay check to paycheck with little or no action or planning. You can always find these people complaining about how bad the economy is, taxes are too high, etc…
The best thing you can do is find a mentor and surround yourself with positive achievers and realize it will take a lot of effort. Lance Armstrong didn’t win the Tour de France 6 times by accident and battle cancer at the same time. He was driven, set goals, and took action on a daily basis. He also realized greatness would not happen overnight. Greatness didn’t come overnight for Dale Earnhardt either. He raced hard for many years, suffered crashes that would have kept most people off the track and faced fear head on. With his tanacity, fierce vigor and drive he became the greatest Nascar legend of all time. Now his son, Dale Jr., continues his racing legacy and awesome philanthropic and charitable activities. If you take the effort to take action, use baby steps to attain goals and make realistic goals you cannot and will not fail. Failure will not be a word in your vocabulary.
Now you know how to achieve greatness. Set goals for yourself. Make them realistic and take realistic baby steps to achieve them. Take action - this will seperate you from 99.9% of everyone else. They are afraid to take action and will never attain greatness. What do you think Lance Armstrong said when critics said he could not win the Tour de France, or that he could not do a repeat win of it? What do you think Dale Earnhardt said when the critics stated he could not overcome his fathers shadow in racing? They went on to become the greatest of their time. What will you do?
It is never to late to decide to take control of your life and make something great of it. Look at Sam Walton. He didn’t like working with a Ben Franklin franchise and their rules. So he started his own retailing company and became the largest retailer in the world. If you make attainable goals, take action, and lay out baby steps to achieve these goals there is no way you will fail and there’s no telling what you can or will achieve. Some of our greatest achievers have come from the most humbling positions. I wonder what greatness you can and will achieve.
