‘I Don’t Know’ is NOT an Acceptable Answer! Now, What is It that You Would Rather Do in Your Life?

Here’s a typical situation. See if you know anyone like this: “He” has a job. Doesn’t really like it a whole lot or is getting tired of the long hours. Doesn’t have much time for hobbies or going to the gym or happy hour with friends or spending time with the family, because he’s always travelling and away from home. Either that or he often works long hours and is so tired when he comes home that he doesn’t feel like going out, being sociable or spending quality time with the family. His friends are slowly getting tired of asking him to come out, because most of the time he’s either away or tired or has some other excuse why he can’t come out. Pretty soon they won’t ask anymore and he’ll come home one day and his friends will have new friends and he’ll be left alone. He knows though that he’s not really happy. He knows that he would rather be doing something else, but he doesn’t know what.

Is it worth it? Life is passing us by. If you are not already, put yourself in this guy’s shoes. To know that there is something else you would rather do in life, but to not know what it is and what’s worse, to let the fact that you don’t know, just linger on in your mind without trying to figure it out? Days pass and turn into weeks, months, years and before you know it, either you don’t even think about it anymore, because you have just accepted the routine as being normal or when you are forced to talk about it, you continue to allow yourself to answer “I don’t know.” And then you drop it.

So why am I telling you this? Because you really have two choices. You can either continue to do what you’re doing and be unhappy and continue to hang out with those so-called friends who are doing the “grind” just like you; all of you, auto-convincing yourselves that there is no better way to live your life than the way you are right now or, you can do SOMETHING about it. ANYTHING! Because there are alternatives to working as hard as you are right now and where, if you so choose, you can make just as much or even more money with less effort. If you want more free time, if you want to make more money with less effort. If you would like to spend more quality time with your family, take breaks in the middle of the day, take a day off whenever you want, get up late, take nice vacations, not have to worry about how much money you are spending…well, you get the message, then the next time someone asks you what you would rather do in life, don’t let the words “I Don’t Know” stop you from living your dreams!

‘I don’t know’ is laziness. ‘I don’t know’ is an excuse not to think anymore. It is not an answer. It is a dead end. It weakens you. It means surrender. It let’s you slide. It sucks the life out of you year after year after year, because you have so gotten used to saying it…about everything, that you don’t even realize it. ‘I don’t know is nothing! STOP IT! And take control of your life before it’s too late. If you are like most people, you will say to yourself, “Well, that was an interesting article. I’ll think about it.” You’ll never do anything about it and you know it. Look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself the truth. But don’t finish the conversation with yourself with “I don’t know”!

You are not alone. Many people feel stuck in their niche in life and don’t know how to get out. Don’t give up. Keep asking yourself! The answer is inside of you, you just have to bring it out? Here are some questions that might help you the next time you find you telling yourself “I don’t know what I would rather do.”:

What were you put here on this earth to accomplish?

What about you is special?

What do you have to offer this world?

What do you love to do?

What are your hobbies? (Could you turn them into a profession? Chances are you could.)

What is your mission in life?

What would you like people to say about you when you are no longer around?

What legacy would you like to leave behind?

What would you like to accomplish before you die?

If you could do anything you wanted to do in this world, (Anything!) what would it be?

My company is dedicated to helping people improve the quality of their lives. We’re the Dream Makers. We make dreams come true. But you have to do your part too. Just like Dorothy, you have to put your shoes on, get ready, close your eyes , click your heels together and say, “There’s no place like where I’d rather be right now.”, believe it, look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself the truth about what your heart is telling you and the next thing you know you will be airborne, your ‘house’ will be spinning, and it will land on top of the wicked “I Don’t Know witch of the West” and then finally…you will be home.

I wish you all the best!

Basic Tips and tricks for Windows XP

Running Applications in Compatibility Mode With Windows XP, you can run programs as if though they were being run under a different operating system. (This is known as “emulation”.) Simply right-click a shortcut, select “Properties” and then check “Run in compatibility mode” and select the operating system you wish to make the program believe it is being run under. This fools or tricks the program into thinking you are really using a previous version of Windows, such as NT, 2000, 98, or 95. This is especially useful for certain games that won’t run properly. Be careful *not* to use this with certain system utilities, such as antivirus, defrag, registry, and disk tool applications.

Customizing the Start Menu Right click on the “Start” button and left click “Properties”. From here, you can select the new Windows XP style Start Menu, or return to the Windows 2000/Millennium style one. You can also customize the two possible choices using their corresponding “Customize” buttons. This also allows you to turn on or disable cascading menus and other options that are useful, such as large or small icons and more.

Bring Back Those Desktop Icons After you install Windows XP, you probably noticed that some of your icons from previous versions of Windows you’ve used are missing. Microsoft did this intentionally to help simply and reduce clutter. Of course, for some people, this isn’t the best choice or the user preference. So, if you want those icons like “My Computer” and “My Network Places” back, just open Display Properties (right click Desktop Wallpaper, left click “Properties”) and click the “Desktop” tab. Click the “Customize Desktop” button and on the “General” tab check the items you want. You can also change the icons used by these desktop items in the same screen. One final tip related to this screen is the “Clean Desktop Now” button, which notifies you of unused icons on the desktop and offers to remove them if you choose.

Give Me My ClearType Windows XP includes a great new visual technology, called “ClearType” which increases horizontal legibility by approximately 300% and it looks great. Go back into “Display Properties” [see tip: “Bring Back Those Desktop Icons” for instructions] and this time, go to the “Appearance” tab. Click “Effects” and for the second drop down box, labeled “Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts”, select “ClearType”. Click OK twice and you’re all set.

Lock Computer vs. Welcome Login Screen You must go into Control Panel and open the “User Accounts” applet to change this setting. Click “Change the way users log on or off”. For maximum security, uncheck the “Use the Welcome screen” option. This re-enables the use of the “Lock Computer” option from the ALT CTRL DELETE menu, but prevents multiple users from being logged on locally at a single time. This also returns to the Windows 2000 style login screen. If you’d rather have the ability to *not* be able to use “Lock Computer” and would rather allow multiple users to logon to the computer at a single time locally, leave this setting checked and also check “Use Fast User Switching”.

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas For Your Mom

The job is motherhood.

We all have a mother. With our lives as busy as they are we can forget to tell our mom how great she is. Luckily, one day a year is reserved as a special tribute to our teacher, our biggest fan and maybe even our best friend. So is there a gift special enough for that special lady? What could you possibly send her to convey your appreciation for her years of kissing boo-boos, finding lost shoes and letting you live through your teen years?

For the answer, let’s look at your mom. What are the other loves of her life? When she’s not completely engrossed in you, what does she like to do? Is it reading, gardening, art, or shopping? The answer to the perfect gift lies within her.

Does her perfect day involve digging through dirt and talking to insects? If she loves to garden a gardening basket will be a sure hit. It celebrates the coming spring as well as her years of selfless dedication. How about a basket filled with seed packets, gardening gloves, a garden tool or two and some sweet treats. She’ll think about you with every newly opened bloom.

Does your mom have a sweet tooth? Is she the one with a secret stash of her favorite chocolates? A basket stuffed with all the sweet favorites she craves should make her smile. If you really want to spoil her you can give her some of those gourmet chocolates she’s always dropping hints about. Add some tissue paper for filling and a nice bow to make it pretty and she’ll be completely impressed.

Every mom enjoys a night out of the kitchen. What’s her favorite restaurant? A gift certificate or even better, a date for dinner with you is sure to be a special gift. If your mom is more of a homebody, surprise her with take out from that restaurant. Either way her cravings are satisfied, the kitchen stays clean, and she gets to spend time with you.

The gift of relaxation is one that every mom deserves. Make it easy for her to find peace with a nice spa basket. Fill it with luxurious bath beads, bath salt, a real sponge and a big fluffy towel. Add some candles and a CD of mood music and relaxation is hers.

To some tea is an art. If that describes your mom’s feelings about tea, give her a gift she’ll love. Make her a tea basket. Gather some of her favorites; add a special teacup and a maybe a sentimental book dedicated to motherhood. The soothing scents and flavors will give her a moment of bliss in a busy day.

If you want to get your mom the best gift of all you don’t have to search far. Most moms just want to be with their kids. Spend some time with her on this special day. Make your gift to her a day spent with you. Have lunch, take in a movie, go shopping or something else she likes to do. Give her your time. It’s the most precious gift any of us has to give.

How to Write an Article (For Beginning Internet Marketers)

Hello future successful writer. If you are at all like me then you are probably confident in your writing abilities but don’t have an idea of what to write about. You are probably involved in some sort of an internet marketing program with some sort of training program. You have probably put an ad on adwords, participated in some of the set up for you ad campaigns and maybe even paid for leads. And now, it is time to write an article, like most programs suggest, and you don’t have a clue.

I did the same and I am now running low on advertising funds. All the programs you run into these days suggest you write an article to promote your website. They tell you to choose a topic, make a few points about it, elaborate each point with a paragraph and then write a conclusion, and don’t forget to put a link back to your website at the end.

I couldn’t think of anything that I knew enough about or cared enough about to write an article on. Then it hit me, everyone in my situation needs an idea for an article. There are tons of sites with content for people writing ebooks and people who ghost write for people but not too many that really help you develop your own articles.

My idea came to me after a few weeks of thinking and brainstorming. And here it is! This is my idea. An article about writing articles is my subject! I know how hard it is. I started off by visiting a forum for fellow Internet Marketers. I read tons of questions and answers. I couldn’t seem to find anything that I could elaborate on to write a whole article about, however, as I read and read I found myself more able to respond to the postings of others. I started to become knowledgeable. Then, last night, as I stood in the shower it hit me! People need to know how to write articles.

The first step I recommend is to go through other marketing methods and get the ball rolling. Then go into a forum like The Warrior Forum and browse the topics at hand. If you can, help out those with a question. You’ll notice that quite a few posters here are either in some sort of hurry or are awful writers. Try to figure out their point. If you can understand it, then see if you can elaborate on it enough to create an article.

Another idea is to do what I said earlier and brainstorm, elaborate and publish but, it is hard to do. It is important to realize that it takes time to come up with a topic that you feel comfortable writing about. Just keep reading and reading. Soon you will be filled with information and experiences. That is when the ideas will come along and you will find confidence inyourself because you will have specialized knowledge.

A good place to start practicing is a blog. You can brainstorm there. Just write down what you do on a daily basis in your business endeavors. Every so often go back and read it. You will be able to see your progress, and see how what you know would have benefited you in the past. Now as an aspiring article writer take that experience and publish it to save others from having to go through the same trial and error you did.

What I have learned from my trial and error is that you must remain persistent. Don’t let temporary defeat keep you down. Keep trying, reading, and learning and soon you will be where you want to be. Articles are a great form of advertising and also a great way for you to help those around you. You create a win-win situation with a great article. So keep practicing and soon I will be reading your articles to learn about something new!

The Pride of Us All

The dictionary explains pride as being self-respect or satisfaction over one’s accomplishments. We must first understand that all things are done by the will of God. It is by his Grace he allow us to have self-respect or satisfaction over one’s accomplishments. Grace is unmerited favor, unearned benefits, undeserved kindness, God’s amazing gift of forgiveness of sins and power to live with dignity in the present and with hope for the future. Lets look at what the Bible says about this. In the book of Philippians 2:13 it says for it is God who works in you to will and act according to his good purpose. Now look at Revelation 4:11 it says Your are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.

John warns us about this world. Look at 1John 2:15 it says Do not Love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the worldthe cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and doescomes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

Now look at 1Corinthians 3:21 it says So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the futureall are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

Look at 1Corinthians 1:18 it says For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate. Paul tell us in 1Corinthians 1:10 it says I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.

Now look at 1Corinthians 4:6 it says Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, Do not go beyond what is written. Then you will not take pride in one man over against another. For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! You have become kingsand that without us! How I wish that you really had become kings so that we might be kings with you! For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men. We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ!

We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored! To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless. We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless, when we are persecuted, we endure it; when we are slandered, we answer kindly. Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world. I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you, as my dear children. Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. Therefore I urge you to imitate me.

In closing look at Corinthians 10:23 it says Everything is permissiblebut not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissiblebut not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others. Just remember in this day of September 2005, Jesus is still alive. You are Bless to be a Blessing to others.

Love Always,
Your Sister in Christ,
Mellody Davis

What Aquarium Should You Go For?

So what aquarium is best for you. If you’ve been to the aquatics
or have even seen some aquarium fish in your local pet shop then
you may be interested in setting up an aquarium. The problem is
most people don’t know where to start and they don’t know what
type of aquarium they should get.

When I talk about type of aquarium, I am meaning the type of
fish you would get e.g. saltwater or freshwater. There is not
just two choices though. You need to decide whether you want
coldwater or tropical and then from which part of the world.

There are some great ways to help you decide and here are a few
tips to get you started.

Select the top ten species of fish you would like to keep
without taking into account whether they are suited to live
together. Then sort them out into there groups and research
which group that fish would go in.

After you have you groups you may then see that 4 out of the ten
are in the tropical saltwater group and are all peaceful fish
that can be kept together. The other 6 may be split into ones or
twos. This would then mean that the group of four could suit you
best.

Another way to help select is look at the level of how difficult
each group of fish are. If you are decided on spending a couple
of hours per week on your new hobby then you can try something a
little harder but if you don’t have much spare time you may be
better trying to keep an easier type of aquarium.

You could look at the size of tank you can afford and fit in
your home. This will help because unless you can accommodate a
large aquarium some types of fish will be suitable because they
grow large. If you can only accommodate a small aquarium it may
suit you more to go for small tropical freshwater fish like
neon’s and other tetras.

Please think about the advice I’ve told you. You could also
research some aquarium bio-types you like by looking at books
and asking aquatic staff on your next visit.

Book Review: Now, Discover Your Strengths

There seems to be no lack of the number of books written about personality traits, talents and how to more effectively manage personnel to the advantage of the organization. However, Marcus Buckingham, coauthor of the book First, Break All the Rules, and Donald O. Clifton, Chair of the Gallup International Research & Education Center, now provide managers with a positive approach to help identify and utilize strengths of individuals to the benefit of the organization in their bestselling Now, Discover Your Strengths. The book maintains that this unique, positive approach of focusing on strengths is far more effective in achieving success than eliminating weaknesses, given that we all have inherent strengths and natural weaknesses no matter what positions we might have. For example, the book points out, it does not matter if you are Bill Gates or Tiger Woods. True, these are individuals with tremendous talents that have made them well known in their respective fields, but they also have weaknesses that play into the mix. It would seem our brains are programmed by nature from early childhood, no matter how good our nurture, to start being selective in a few key areas. It is as nature intended it to be. Without being selective, and allowing many of the billions of connections we are born with to lapse into disrepair, we would become dysfunctional with information overload. Therefore, it is understandable that with sufficient practice, while we might be able to learn different tasks well, we will never be great in these areas unless we have a natural innate talent for them.

Unfortunately, most of us do not have a good sense of our talents, let alone the ability to effectively use our strengths to our advantage. Rather, most of us spend our lives becoming all too aware of our weaknesses and spend our time trying to deal with our flaws, while neglecting our innate talents. However, most original and potentially most revealing, to address this problem, Now, Discover Your Strengths provides access to a web-based interactive questionnaire, developed by the Gallup Organization, that quickly identifies your top 5 (out of a total of 34) positive “personality themes”, such as: Achiever, Deliberative, Harmony, Empathy and so forth that you might naturally posses. The book goes on to elaborate how each of the 34 unique themes can be identified, complete with individual profiles describing how each might act and what each might “sound like.” As each sees the world through their own strengths filter, it is easy to have friction between different individuals within the same department or organization, because we all see the world, and how it should look, so differently. While one may hear what someone else is saying, they may not be able to assimilate it into their own world effectively. This is why partners or advisors are often so effective, as they ad balance to the limits of others. One word of caution however: do not buy this book used if you intend to take the preference test. There is a unique, one-time code that comes with each copy of Now, Discover Your Strengths, which is absolutely necessary in order to access the website’s resources. The book has limited value without the ability to take the online test. However, the test alone is well worth the price of the entire book just by itself. With this resource, you will better understand how to build a “strengths-based organization” by capitalizing on the fact that such traits are already present among those within it.

With an estimated 8 out of 10 people in this country not really in a position to capitalize on their strengths and talents, chances are most of us could benefit from reading this book. As most of us fail to capitalize on our strengths, it is not surprising that most departments in any company, no matter the size of the organization, are not operating at even par performance. The risk doing nothing is costly- not only in lost productivity, but in job satisfaction, employee retention and absenteeism and so on. This groundbreaking, resourceful book is easy to read in short concise chapters. Along with the associated preference test, Now, Discover Your Strengths, is a positive cost effective solution in resolving problems, and helping each employee achieve his or her full potential. This is must read for managers and office teams who want a win-win solution in improving their own departments, as well as the lives of those who work for them.

You Think You’re Buying Blue Mountain Jamaican Coffee - But Are You Sure?

There is a huge demand for Blue Mountain Jamaican Coffee, and a limited supply.

To make matters worse, over 90% of the crop each year goes to Japan and Europe, leaving the last 10% for the whole of North America.

As a result, genuine, 100% Blue Mountain Jamaican coffee is sometimes not available, at any price.

At the same time, North Americans are clamoring for the beans, because Blue Mountain coffee has been so successfully marketed. That’s not to say that it isn’t a good coffee. It is. But does it live up to the marketing hype, when compared other great coffee from around the world? That is a matter of opinion and personal taste.

Because of the high demand for Blue Mountain coffee, and because it commands prices in the region of $40 a pound, there are plenty of unscrupulous sellers who will be happy to sell what appears to be the real thing, but is not.

In fact, it’s probably true to say that of all the coffees you can buy, Blue Mountain is the one that is subject to the sneakiest and most suspect labeling.

Quite often the label and description will give you the impression you are buying 100% Blue Mountain, while that’s not what’s in the bag at all.

Sometimes the bag will contain a mix, or blend of regional coffees, with only a small proportion of the real thing. At other times the beans will be mixed in with coffee from other countries altogether.

There is no doubt that Blue Mountain Jamaican is a wonderful coffee. But if you want to be absolutely sure you are buying the real thing, read the label carefully. Make sure it is 100% Blue Mountain Jamaican.

Also, look for a certification logo from the Jamaican Coffee Industry Board.

Nicholas H. Usborne is one of the sleuths at CoffeeDetective.com He and his colleagues take a commonsense approach to making great coffee, and give you the straight facts on coffee and coffee makers - without the marketing hype. They also write the Fair Trade Coffee News Blog

Who Is Wallace Wattles and Why Is He One of My Mentors and Heroes?

Who is Wallace Wattles? Wallace D. Wattles died over 90 years ago so how can he be one of my mentors and heroes?

I had been studying the works of some of the most famous self-improvement ‘gurus’ of recent times and several of them mentioned the book ‘The Science Of Getting Rich’ as the starting point of their own success.

After doing some research on the internet, I came across a brilliant site where I could download a beautifully presented pdf version of the book for free.

I couldn’t believe how short and sweet the presentation of Mr Wattles message was. His work seems to have been the basis from which all the more famous and recent experts sprouted. He even preceeds Napoleon Hill and ‘Think and Grow Rich’!

Over the years I had been developing my own system for achieving my lifes goals by cherry picking ideas from the authors I had read. The conclusion I was slowly coming to had been reached and written down almost half a century before I was born!

In Wallace’s own words, “…if there is a particular book you need to read it will be placed in your hands at the right time.” How right he was.

How many light bulbs went off in my head? 5/5
