Less Catered Chalet Vacations for Sale this Coming Winter Will Mean Less Discounts

Snowboarders and skiers should anticipate ski holidays to cost upwards of 13 per cent more for holidays this coming winter as ski companies cut back the quantity of skiing trips for sale.

Peak season trips will be particularly pricey yet even at other times there may be fewer heavily discounted trips.

Ski insiders say that with ski companies cutting back on beds by up to 29 percent costs are unlikely to fall.

Bookings for luxury skiing are even now greater than the number of beds available during half term which for the 2nd year will fall on the one week for just about all the schools in England and Wales.

Price increases and a slashing in the amount of ski holidays follows what was a particularly fine skiing season for skiers with good snowfall all over France.

With the collapse of the sterling versus the dollar ate up profits and left many small providers with debt.

Next season already looks better for snowboarders able to vacation in January or Mar, as prices will be up by about 16 percent on average, instead of 21 per cent for high-season dates.

Airways, chalets and lift companies are starting to realise that they must offer holiday makers discounts or special offers. Wise snowboarders will pay for as many extras ” for example passes and ski hire ” in pounds sterling before they leave home.
