Acne Medicine - Does Your Acne Require It?

Acne is an ordeal for many people. Its victims consist of all ages, races and sex. When looking for medicine to clear your acne it is important to remember that it will happen in stages, not overnight. This means you will have to be patient, there are no real quick fixes. In fact, your goal is to obtain a healthy, clear complexion for life.

Opting for the acne treatment products that promise you clear skin in a matter of days must be done with caution. How strong do those chemicals have to be in order for them to work so fast? Are there any major side effects? Does your acne type qualify for these fast acne treatment products? You can invest a lot of money buying treatments that do not work. And too many of them will leave you bitterly disappointed by the lack of results.

There are severe cases of acne that require acne medical treatment, such as cases like Rosacea. However, even cases that might not seem as severe might require acne medical treatment. How do you know what type of acne you have? It’s severity? And what treatment you should use?

The First and Most Important Step is to go to your doctor.

Your doctor can tell you whether your acne requires a visit to a specilist - a dermatologist. This referral should also allow you to receive acne medical treatment at a lower price, as your health insurance will subsidize the cost of the medicine.

However, before consulting your doctor, you should take a few steps to ensure you can properly outline your problem. Your first step is to create an acne treatment history of every product you have used on your skin and what benefits you derived from it. You should record for each product:if it worked, for how long, and especially note any adverse reactions.

These notes will be of valuable assistance to your skin care professional. Why? Well, you might have been using products that were not really suitable for your skin type. Your dermatologist will then be able to recommend the acne medical product you need to achieve long term results based upon your specific problem and skin type and this is precisely what you want.

In summary, it is important to remember your goal is a healthy, clear complexion for the long term. To achieve this, visit your doctor to get the professional assistance needed in attaining this goal and the skin you deserve and can be proud of.

How To Find The Perfect Formal Hairstyle

Finding the right hairstyle for that special occasion can be a big chore. No matter whether it is your wedding day or a formal work party, looking your best is always your top priority and you pay just as much attention to your hair as you do your dress. So, how can you find perfect updos and formal styles to suit your individual personality and style of dress?

Probably the best place to start is online. There are literally hundreds of photo galleries dedicated to updos and formal hairstyles alone. By browsing these sites, you can find numerous styles and print them out so that you can share them with your stylist. All you need to do to find these photo galleries is perform a quick search for updos in your favorite search engine. Many of these sites also have how to articles to help you do your hair yourself at home.

Another great way to find unique formal styles is to browse through your salon’s style books and portfolios. In most salons, there are stylists that specialize in different updo techniques. A salon might have one stylist who can create amazing braided and basket weaved updos whereas another stylist may be able to create sleek timeless classics perfectly. By looking through a portfolio and seeing each stylist’s actual work, you can get a feel of whether or not their style would suit your preferences. And you can get a glimpse of signature styles that you cannot find anywhere else.

You can also find photos and how to articles in many magazines that are geared toward wedding preparations. Hair style magazines also come out with an updo issue occasionally.

Once you have found a good source of formal hairstyle photos, you need to narrow your choices down to a few favorites. When doing this, pay attention to the model’s hair. If she has extremely thick hair, you may not be able to achieve quite the same look if your hair is thin and fine and vice versa.

After you have narrowed down your choices, begin experimenting with the different styles by pulling your hair up in mock positions. Find one or two combinations that you think would look the best and take them to your hairdresser for a trial run.

Granted, finding a style this way rather than letting your stylist have his or her lead may take a little bit of time, but when you help in the planning process, you will ensure that you get a perfect formal do that will be the envy of the party.

Jenny is a hair expert, and the author of an incredible free minicourse, that explains how to find your unique style, how long or short you should have your hair, how to find the right hair color for you, how to find the right salon, and a lot more. Shaving and the Adolescent Male

The most obvious way around it is to use a good quality electric shaver. Usually this resolves the problem of cutting pimples and causing unnecessary pain and injury. However, you will need to follow a good skin care regime to remove the dead skin cells which build up on you skin, in order to promote healthy growth of new skin cells. We’ll discuss exfoliation later.

Make sure you use skin care products for sensitive skin when acne pimples are many and inflamed. It’s important to get the skin type right too. Dry, normal or oily skin, requires different approaches and in many cases there will be a couple of different skin types in any one individual.

For example, you may have a combination of dry and oily skin, or normal and oily skin. Usually with acne there is a component of oily skin – the nose, forehead are often oily, while the cheeks and chin areas are either normal or dry. You will need to keep this in mind in order to effectively treat your acne and shave without causing additional problems.

There are some basic principles that all you men should know about their skin and how to best conquer the shaving process.

It sounds easy enough, hey just put some shaving gel on your face and using a razor, take it off again, simple, how hard could it be?

The problem is not that the act of shaving is in itself difficult, it’s not, but unfortunately the skin can very much be a problem. If shaving is not done correctly, you could end up looking a bloody mess and have blotchy irritated skin and that is not a good look with which to impress the girls.

To start with, young men, and for that matter even mature men don’t realise that the beard hairs grow in different directions… The key is not to shave against the direction of the growth. In order to get a close shave, it is very important that the preparation stage for shaving is done correctly if a close shave is desired.

Shaving against the growth of the hair will give you a closer shave, but you increase the risk of nicks and cuts many fold and if you have acne, this can get rather bloody.

So, here’s how to get it right from the start.

Before we start, shave in the shower. The warm water will open the facial pores soften both the stubbles and the skin and this promotes a better, closer shave. Also, there is less risk of nicks and cuts if your skin is warmed by the hot water in the shower.

Ok, let’s get stated:

Step 1 – Use an exfoliant; this gets rid of dead skin cells, which lifts your stubble and gives a closer shave, leafing your skin smooth and looking well groomed.

Wildcrafted’s Skin Renewal Gel is perfect for this job, because the herbs and essential oils contained in this product help not only to remove dead skin cells, but also nourishes the skin and provides nutrients the skin can utilise.

Step 2 – Prepare the canvas; use the Vitalising Shaving Gel. This product combines pre-shave oiling of the skin and a shaving crème. Not only do you provide lubrication so the razor glides easily over the skin, but the essential oils in this product have antiseptic properties, so you reduce the risk of infections in the event of nicks or cuts from shaving. This helps you to get a smooth shave and the lubricating oils prevent nicks and cuts. Once you have applied the Vitalising Shaving Gel to your face, work it into lather and then start shaving.

Step 3 – Shaving; the best razor is one that lets you use a light stroke and you don’t need to push down too hard. Gillette’s M3 fits the bill, but there are other’s of similar quality. Using a brush to apply the Vitalising Shaving Gel will help lift the bristles and allow you to shave even closer, but your hands will do the job just fine.

If you use an electric shaver, it is still to your advantage to shave after you’ve had a shower, because the skin is warm, softer and the stubble are easier to shave off. Some of the newer electric shavers you can now use under the shower too – so take advantage of that and use the benefits of the ‘hot water’.

Step 4 – Nicks and cuts? The Vitalising Shaving Gel, which leaves a residue on your skin even after you have finished shaving, contains essential oils which disinfect and help repair the skin. Just leave it on your face while you finish having a shower and then rinse it off.

Step 5 – Moisturise. This is a must. After you have finished your shower, apply the Ginseng Hydrator specific for your skin type – remember you may need to use more than one if you have two different skin types. If you have a shiny skin, use the Ginseng Hydrator for Oily skin, if it looks dry and or dull, use the Ginseng Hydrator for Dry skin, else use the one for Normal skin.

Step 6 – Restore; once or twice a week, use a natural clay mask to help your skin heal from the taxing process of shaving. The Earth Medicine Facial Clay range contains soothing minerals and oils to calm shaving irritation. It also helps to remove toxins that build up in the skin, especially if you suffer from acne.

If you are using an electric razor, all the steps except for Step 3 still apply. Using an electric razor can cause your skin to be quite itchy and using a moisturiser that sooths the irritated skin is very important.

So there you have it. Shaving can be easy and painless, as long as you follow the steps above, you should not have any trouble getting your stubbles under control. Remember, use the shower to shave, it really does help immensely as well as save you time, and it helps you to do a better job.

Counseling at a Hair Transplant Centre, is It All that Essential?

Men and women visiting a hair restoration centre or clinic have many different motives for desiring hair restoration. Whatever the motive, the decision to undertake hair restoration surgery should be an educated one before any desperate patient becomes an easy game for the unscrupulous hair transplant surgeon paying on fears and panic of his patients for immediate financial gain.

A patient’s education and counseling in a hair restoration clinic or center helps him or her to be the realistic about the outcomes of hair transplant surgery and cooperate with the hair restoration surgeon for designing the hair line or deciding the future course of the surgeries.

Along with the patient’s education, his or her psychology is also an important aspect of hair restoration surgery. A patient should never expect miracles from the hair restoration surgery but only that which is actually possible as briefed by the hair restoration surgeon.

Any article on counseling would not be complete without a discussion of the factors that lead to a patient’s dissatisfaction with the outcome of hair transplant surgery. The dissatisfaction rate among the patients undergoing surgical hair restoration is approximately 2%, even in the best hair restoration clinics.

With the slick, overstated advertising of modern hair restoration techniques and the high surgical fee charged by hair restoration surgeons t is very natural for the patient to expect too much from a hair transplant surgeon. Encouraged by aggressive litigation lawyers, the patients can even go to the extent of suing the hair transplant surgeon.

Though most patient do not go to the extent of suing, more often they grumble about the postoperative pain, lack of graft hair density and threaten the hair transplant surgeon.

A pre-operative counseling session at the hair restoration clinic definitely helps in reducing the disappointment rate with their hair restoration surgery. The prospective hair restoration patient needs to understand the difference between the results that can realistically be produced and the results they wish for.

No matter how careful and ethical the operating hair restoration surgeon is, there is a small group of patients who are very difficult to satisfy. Although no patient can ever be completely happy even with best of results, some patients due to their subverted psychology are much more difficult to please!

Experience has shown that young men aged 18–28 years have a higher dissatisfaction rate than men in older age groups. Their emotional immaturity plays a major role in this regard. Such men may have psychiatric problems, but a good hair restoration surgeon understands and never deprives these patients of the undoubted benefits of hair restoration surgery by a blunt denial. Instead they will do all sort of cajoling to agree them and be realistic about the outcomes.

Perhaps the greatest challenges sometimes do not lie in the actual hair transplantation procedures, but in the counseling process itself. And getting the patient, especially the young patient (at high risk of developing more advanced baldness in the future) willingly agreeing to undergo a conservative hair restoration is like wining half the battle! If a young bald person insists upon a hairline like other peers of his age, he is perhaps demanding something unnatural without any consideration for his future hair loss. And in such cases it all depends upon the counselor to convince the young person to understand that though some hair restoration possible it cannot give him the exact look he expects from the surgery.

Similarly, the counseling session with the patient for designing of his or her hair line also helps the hair transplant surgeon. Considerations of the individual patient’s facial structure, expectations, and hair quality are a must. But, though the quantity and quality of hair varies, the concepts of hair transplant surgery remain the same for every hair transplant surgery performed. By creative planning, judicious use of available donor hair and aesthetic and strategic placing of hair follicle grafts, a hair transplant surgeon can do much for the patient’s expectations!

If you have already made a decision to undergo a hair transplant surgery, find time to read through the web pages of hairtransplantadvice.com to make a well informed decision.

Universal Law Series - Law Of Attraction

Our thoughts, emotions and feelings act as a powerful magnet, attracting circimstances into our lives. Whether these circimstances are positive or negative, is completely dependent on how we think!

This is the sixth of seven articles in our continuing series covering the core seven Universal Laws. The focus of this article is the sixth Law – the Law of Attraction.

Law of Attraction

Simply stated, the Law of Attraction says that we attract into our lives, that upon which we place our dominant thoughts. In other words, if we focus predominantly on abundance, solutions and positive outcomes then that is exactly what we will attract back into our lives. Nice!

There is a dangerous flip side to this law however - if we focus on lack, problems and negative outcomes, then that is exactly what we will attract.

You may have heard of Earl Nightingale. Known today as the father of modern day self-help, Earl, while working in the insurance business back in the mid 1950’s, cut a record called ‘The Strangest Secret’. The purpose of this record was to provide some training for his staff while he was traveling on business. Earl’s strangest secret was simply this:

“We become what we think about most of the time!”

This ‘secret’ aligns perfectly with the Law of Attraction and acts as a constant reminder that we must learn to control our thoughts. Truthfully, our own thoughts are the only things in life over which we have complete control. The challenge is to keep them in control and not let them run rampant with negativity.

For an example of the power of the Law of Attraction, you need look no further than your own life. Have you ever had one of those days, where everything seems to go wrong? From the cold shower to the burnt toast to the traffic ticket on the way to the office, to the grouchy boss, to the difficult customer, we have all experienced those days. It all starts with the way we think. Our thought patterns attract the first negative experience. This experience then puts us in a negative frame of mind which works to attract further “bad” situations. The more we focus on the “bad day” we are having, the worse things get!

The solution is to change our frame of reference. Take the negative emotions and change them to be either positive or at least neutral. Look for the lesson in every situation. Learning to laugh at ourselves is another great way to change our reference point. If we break the cycle of negativity, things will begin to turn around almost immediately.

What You Can Do

There are two things that you can start doing immediately that will help you to harness the awesome power of the Law of Attraction:

1. Ask yourself the question: “Do I focus on Lack or Abundance (or stated another way, ‘Am I problem-focused or solution-focused”)? If you answered, ‘Lack / Problems’ then set out to immediately change your frame of reference. Change your habits and thought patterns to be more positive and solution-focused.

2. Take full responsibility for whatever is happening in your life, be it good or bad. You have attracted the good as well as the bad, so taking responsibility will allow you to make the choice to change your thinking.

Positive thinking on it’s own will not solve all of your problems, however it is one of a series of things that we all have the power to implement which will get us on the path to leading the life we want.

Acne And The Changes In Girls During Puberty

During puberty, girls go through many changes some physical and some psychological. These changes include fat distribution, menstruation, body composition, body and facial hair growth, growth spurts, skin changes and body odor. During puberty the body physically changes as the fat tissue increases in the breasts, hips, and thighs, producing the typical female shape. With all these changes in girls during puberty, what effect does acne have on girls during this difficult and emotional time?

Acne can increase the physical and emotional stress that girls experience during puberty. The severity and likelihood of acne is one of the many changes in girls during puberty due to the increased oil secretions in the skin. Mood swings, increased irritability and feelings of low self esteem can also be experienced by girls during puberty. Even girls who have been self confident can suffer from low self esteem when puberty starts.

These changes in girls during puberty can be more severe if she also suffers from acne. There are steps you can take to help lessen the problems of acne, which may help girls during this difficult time.

Practical Acne Treatments For Girls…

Proper skin care is the first step in dealing with acne. There are many skin care products on the market that may help with acne. Gently washing the face twice a day is the first place to start. Be sure to select a cleanser that contains salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or sulfur, as they kill the bacteria that cause acne. Gentle cleansing is important so don’t wash too often or scrub the face with harsh cleansers.

It is also important to use non-comedogenic products when trying to control acne. Non-comedogenic products are less likely to cause acne, blackheads or block the pores of the skin. There are many non-comedogenic products available, such as makeup, moisturizers, lip stick, and even acne medicated makeup.

It is a good idea to visit a dermatologist if acne can not be controlled with over-the-counter medications as he can prescribe the best solution.

Acne in addition to all the changes in girls during puberty can take a physical and mental toll. There are many acne treatments available today so one should not despair. The onset of acne during puberty represents another challenge for young women to overcome.

Back On Track

I truly believe unless we are doing what brings us joy, we need to think twice about what we’re doing, why we’re doing it and even take it a step further by finding the courage to do something about it so the joy is there.

For the past couple of months I’ve been going through a bit of a metamorphosis personally and in my business. Because of this, I’ve eliminated everything that no longer felt right for me with the business and replaced it with all that is in alignment with my heart and Soul.

The more I delve into my spiritual growth, the more I understand that less really is more. I’ve come to understand at a profound level that there is nothing we have to add to ourselves in order for us to be more spiritual.
In fact, as you allow yourself to release anything and everything that isn’t working in your life, the freer you become and the lighter you feel, enabling you to soar to heights you might never have imagined before.

You see, the less encumbered you are with stuff, unnecessary responsibilities, and people in your life who constantly drain you, the more you give yourself the opportunity to know who you really are at your Soul level. This in turn clears the space for you to attract into your life exactly what it is you desire.

It’s the in between moments of your life, those blank spaces, that you will find your peace and true Self during each part of your life’s journey. These blank spaces represent the simplicity of life, and the more you create these spaces, the more you will find yourself awakening the Genie within and living a life true to your heart. The benefit of this is two-fold. You have more peace and clarity in your life, and, you bring greater joy to everyone you come in contact with.

When I decided to do an overhaul of my website and coaching practice, I knew it was necessary to let go of the direction the business was heading. There were certain expectations and suggestions from others, in regard to my business, that left me feeling disconnected from my vision. Change and letting go isn’t always easy, but it’s necessary if you intend to grow and prosper in every area of your life, and more importantly, if you want to stay true to your Self.

For me, the change I needed to create involved going back to the basics. And when you go back to the basics, you will often find yourself returning to a state of calm, feeling connected to Spirit and your Soul, once again. It is this connection that makes everything in your life right.

Dr. Wayne Dyer gives a beautiful and simple definition of the word spiritual in his book, There’s A Spiritual Solution To Every Problem. He states:

“Then these are the 7 ways I define spiritual: Surrender, Love, Infinite, Empty (Empty Mind), Generous, Connectedness and Cheerful.” He goes on to elaborate on each of these words in the book.

Here are 7 ways I define Soul in a similar fashion: Love, Wisdom, Truth, Harmony, Genuine, Joyful and Peaceful. Perhaps in another newsletter, I’ll elaborate on these words as well.

Wherever you are on your journey’s path, I ask that you observe it from a bird’s eye view so you can see it more clearly and determine if it’s one that still feels right for you.

Are you connected or disconnected? Are you moving along with a skip in your step or dragging your feet? Are you in a place of surrender or struggle? Are you being genuine or wearing a mask? Are you full of love or frustration? Are you listening to your voice or someone else’s?

Be honest with yourself as you answer these questions, because you are the one who must live with the consequences of your response everyday. You may have to dig deep to discover your truth, but I promise you, it’s there. Do yourself a huge favor and take whatever inspired actions you need to, so you too, can experience the definitions of spiritual and Soul. And please know that I am always here, should you need any assistance in doing this.

What is Acne?

Acne is a skin condition that affects millions of individuals everyday. Acne does have a clinical term, which is Acne Vulgaris, but is usually referred to only as “acne”. There are a few variations acne, but the basic acne definition which applies to all forms is fairly simple. Acne is characterized by inflammation on the skin’s surface in the form of cysts, pustules, nodules, papules, pimples, blackheads, and/or white heads. Acne is caused by excess oil in the skin, the fluctuation of hormones, along with inflammation and bacteria. The epidemic of acne transcends cultural, age, and gender boundaries. Therefore, understanding exactly what acne is and how it forms is essential for everyone.

Many use the term “pimple” synonymously with the term “acne”. This is not completely correct; a pimple is a small swelling in the skin that is actually caused by acne. Pimples usually appear as small red or small flesh-colored bumps. Acne is a much more serious condition. If not treated properly it can cause swelling. Below is the explanation of how different forms of acne develop.

When oil from the sebaceous (or oil generating) glands become blocked, bacteria will begin to grow under the skin. This causes the follicle or pore to become blocked as well and this is when acne forms on the skin’s surface. A whitehead will form when the trapped oil and bacteria remain below the skin’s surface. On the other hand, when the trapped oil and bacteria become partially exposed on the skin’s surface, the melanin, or pigment, turns the bump black.

Acne can vary in severity. Some people suffer from pimples more so than acne. Pimples are less likely to cause scarring than acne and, thus, acne poses more of a problem for people. Acne in the form of blackheads can be more serious than acne in the form of white heads. The oil and bacteria that causes the blackhead takes longer to surface; as a result the acne can persist for a long period of time. When a whitehead develops, the cause of the acne (oil and bacteria), are more accessible—this is why it is so easy to pop a whitehead and so difficult to pop a blackhead. Although this is true, it is not recommended for anyone to pop either form of acne.

DHT and Hair Loss

DHT hair loss affects both men and women.

DHT stands for Dihydrotestosterone which is the resulting product
of direct contact between the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, found in
the skin and the scalp, with the hormone testosterone.

DHT hair loss is caused by the DHT binding to receptor sites on
the scalp and hair follicles which interrupts and interacts with
the normal chain of events involved in continual healthy hair
growth.

To put it another way, DHT hair loss happens when DHT takes over
the receptor cell (the cells on the hair follicle that bind to
DHT) and sends false signals to the functioning cells responsible
for proper hair growth.

Men usually lose hair first in the temporal area, second in the
crown, and third, in the vertex or top of the scalp. This is due
to the concentration of sweat glands that carry DHT in these
areas.

Women on the other hand generally thin in a diffuse manner.

Nisim International, leaders in hair science for over 20 years,
produce NewHair Biofactors shampoos which stop DHT hair loss
within 1 week guaranteed!

The deep cleansing scalp shampoo removes unwanted oils, sweat,
dirt and excess sebum as well as neutralizing surface DHT. The
stimulating extracts penetrate further into the scalp to
neutralize DHT in the scalp thereby creating a healthy scalp
environment needed for hair growth.
