Malta’s history stretches back into the ages as far back as 5000 BC and radiocarbon dating has proved this. Scattered all over the Maltese Islands one comes across evidence of Malta’s prehistory. The most important being a series of temples which have been termed to be the oldest free-standing stone structures exceeding even the earliest stone constructions of Egypt – the Pyramids; and older even than Stonehenge. Prehistory remains in Malta are unique and nothing is remotely comparable anywhere in the world. Prehistory is divided into three phases Neolithic (5200 - 4100 BC), Temple Period (4100 – 2500 BC), Bronze Age (2500 – 800 BC). The book Malta Before History published by Miranda Publishers and written by a number of authors gives an in-depth study of the Malta’s prehistory.
Malta Before History is an archaeological, academic and pictorial analysis of Malta’s pre-history embodied in the oldest freestanding stone buildings in the world on the Mediterranean islands of Malta and Gozo.
Malta Before History explores the stone structures, known locally as ‘the temples’ that are older than the pyramids in Egypt, the sites of Mesopotamia and Stonehenge in England. This unique publication, with a foreword by renowned historian Lord Colin Renfrew, brings the Maltese Islands to the attention of new generations of historians and academics as well as readers and travellers who enjoy the uniqueness of history and have never before discovered Malta was the home of such superb ancient sites. To quote Lord Renfrew, ’something exceptional took place in Malta more than 5,000 years ago and there is nowhere else in the world that can boast of great stone monuments at so early a date’. Two of the locations examined in this publication, the megalithic temples and the Saflieni Hypogeum were declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1980.
Extraordinary facts unfold about the mysterious origins of prehistoric Maltese man and how he constructed such unmatched architecture. Chapters include studies on The Building of Megalithic Malta and The Bronze Age as well as the enigma of the Cart Ruts and whether the ‘Fat Lady’ was really a god or a goddess. Equally important is a chapter showing how recent radiocarbon dating has proved that Malta’s prehistory and its standing stone monuments are much older than archaeologists had first assumed. Authors include David Trump, Anthony Pace, Anthony Bonanno, Ann Monsarrat, Daniel Clarke, Michael Hughes Clarke, Alex Torpiano, Frank Ventura, Reuben Grima and Richard England.
Miranda Publishers is at the forefront in the publication of large format Maltese books about Malta’s cultural and historical heritage. For more details or to purchase any of our books visit http://www.mirandabooks.com

Selling information on the internet is by far the easiest and most lucrative business you can start online right now, and make a fortune within a very short time.
Information products are hot, and the sales are skyrocketing. Information is one of the best and most wanted products in the world.
Every day, more and more people are using the internet to seek information that will make their life easier and more enjoyable. If you are seriously ready to start raking in some huge profits by using the power of information publishing, then read on.
Writing and publishing information is the route to making huge amounts of money on the internet. Thousands of people, just like you, have already struck it rich simply by selling information on the internet. Now you too can get your own share of the fortune by creating and marketing your own ebooks.
People love buying ebooks because they can instantly download their purchase and start using it right away. Because your information product is in digital format, you have no inventory, packaging and shipping hassles. You simply store one copy in your website and customers download your ebook as soon as their purchase is complete.
This is a simple business that can be operated from anywhere in the world. You simply need a computer and an internet connection.
Your start-up costs are incredibly low. You can start small, and grow as big as you want.
You can set your business to work on complete autopilot. I mean, people can download your ebook right from your website without any involvement on your part. Once you automate your business, you can spend your time however you want. You can sit back, relax, and make money.
Almost everyone has knowledge or experience that other people will pay to learn about. Maybe you have expert knowledge on a hot topic. Or perhaps, there is something that people want to know how to do, which you can research, and then pass the information to them.
You can turn your knowledge and experience into profitable information products. For example, if you own a successful internet business, you might tell others how to start and operate their own internet business.
What are you good at? What are your hobbies? Can you provide a quicker or easier way to do something?
People are hungry for all kinds of information. You can write about your knowledge and experience, put it into an ebook format and make it available to others.
Before you start creating your product, make sure there is a market for it. There are programs that will help you find out what people are crying for.
Go to Overture.com and type in a keyword relating to the topic you have in mind and it will tell you how many people searched on that keyword within the last month.
Wordtracker is a magnificient tool that will tell you if there is a huge demand for the product you want to create.
Also visit Amazon.com and review their bestsellers. This should be a good pointer to what people are interested in reading about.
Once you’ve determined that there is a strong market for your chosen topic, go ahead and develop your ebook to satisfy their “want.”
Write your book and proofread it. Create the pages in a word processor, such as, Microsoft Word. Select the ebook format you intend to use, and then format the material accordingly.
You need to register a domain name. Your domain name is your unique address on the internet. It is how people will find you on the internet.
Create a well designed website, and set up an online payment processing system. People like the ability to pay right away. They want to purchase your product and download it in a matter of minutes.
Next, you need a professional web hosting service. A web hosting service will provide the space and features you’ll need to upload your website so that people will see it and place orders.
Establish an affiliate program to get orders to sell your ebook for you. There are literally hundreds of thousands of people out there who are looking for products to sell. Starting an affiliate program is a great way to boost your ebook sales, and is extremely easy to set up.
Once you have uploaded your website to your web host’s server, the next thing for you to do is advertise. You must advertise in order to get traffic to your website.
Start by submitting your website to the search engines. Write short articles on your ebook’s topic, and include your ebook’s sales page in your bylines. Place ads in ezines that target the audience you want to reach. Get the information out there in as many ways as you can.
The information publishing business has made a lot of people very rich already, and will make a lot more people even richer in the coming years. Learn all you can about this method of making money, and follow the procedures that have worked so well for others.

Interview with Dwayne Murray, Sr.
Author of “The Mouse That Roared” (ISBN 0976985500)
Hello Dwayne. It’s a pleasure to have you with us. Dwayne Murray, Sr. is the author of “The Mouse That Roared,” novel that is a compelling drama about a young woman who defied her
religious father’s wishes and entered a beauty contest in her home town.
Irene: What inspired you to write a fictional drama about a young woman defying her religious father’s wishes and entering a beauty contest?
Dwayne: I just wanted to break the mold on the subject matter concerning an African American woman. Instead of having her inside a common situation starting off living the rough urban life, I wanted to show the effects of bad decisions by a young woman who was surrounded by a peaceful environment in a “down-home” country life and what could happen by her bad choices causing her to be thrown out of her comfort zone.
Irene: Are you saying that most books about African American women stereotype them as living a rough urban life? If so, why do you believe this?
Dwayne: No not at all, I am just stating that the storyline of African American women living a rough urban lives, has been touched before in other novels and I wanted to start Sandra’s life in a different setting. I know first hand many women who lived and accomplished many positive things in a rough urban atmosphere including my wife, mother and late grandmother.
Irene: This is your first time to write a book. How long have you been thinking of writing this novel?
Dwayne: I have been thinking about this novel for the past year since it’s creation as a screen play first. With the competition of getting this screen play off the ground being very difficult, I found it necessary to turn it into a novel simply because I felt it was a story that needed to be read by the general reading public. My closeness with all the characters, it was imperative that they be released and not held back because they all had a story to tell.
Irene: How did you come up with the characters and their nuances?
Dwayne: The characters all came from my imagination. For example in creating the character Sandra Lyte I knew I wanted a beautiful African American woman who is naïve but a very kind person. A woman who has no insight on the mysteries and dangers of the urban city, but because she is forced in a corner she only has two choices: learn fast or become a statistic. In meeting the antagonist Doug Gunner, Sandra is taken to deep-dark waters where she has never been before, and because of her personality I allowed her to make life defying decisions.
Irene: Why did you choose an African American woman as your main character rather than an Asian or Caucasian woman?
Dwayne: Because I lived and experienced their struggle being raised and reared by the African American women. Their struggle is one I know of and can confidently put on paper as I can identify with it and lived it first hand. Not saying that women of other nationalities have not faced their own struggles, it’s easier for me to identify with African American women as they were an intricate part of molding the man I am today.
Irene: What research did you do for the characters or setting of the plot?
Dwayne: In creating my characters as I stated before they all came from my imagination. Basically I sat down and applied a personality trait to all characters in the novel. We as individuals fit different mold. Some of us are brave, conceited, leaders, followers, go-getters, and devious. It was just a process with me sitting down and deciding what characters would fit which traits.
Irene: Is there any part of the book that reflects on your personal life?
Dwayne: As far as the events that affect Sandra and her friends, I would have to say no. I will say having to dig deep inside myself in different situations in my life to continue to strive for the things I believe in, that I can relate to when it comes down to Sandra.
Irene: And those are?
Dwayne: My childhood friendships were reflective of the friendship that Sandra, Pamela and Rose shared. Also there was Officer Williams of the Community Affairs Office at the 46th Precinct who was very involved with kids and families in the community. My character Ms. Carla, all though female, her dedication and commitment to those less fortunate in the book, reminds me of Officer Williams back in the day who inspired me and solicit my help to give back to others in the community. When I really think about it, there are many aspects of my book that are reflective of my life.
Irene: When I look at the title, and read your story line, it just doesn’t seem to fit. Tell us about choosing the title.
Dwayne: There’s always the short skinny kid in an Army platoon that nobody ever pays attention to. The person that everybody feels is weak and not to be concerned about, but when this person is pushed into a corner he or she will rise to the occasion. Not only surprise the average person, but the same person who judged them to be weak and not too bright. That is who Sandra is, the mouse amongst the cats that in the end will stand up and roar the loudest. That is why I was so intrigued with the title because it fits Sandra’s personality and story perfectly.
Irene: What do you believe causes people perceive that the “short skinny kid” is actually weak?
Dwayne: Truthfully we live in a society that is prejudice and we all make the mistake of “judging a book by its cover.” Most people will see a short skinny person and believe they are weak. Very few can hold judgment until they actually get to know a person. In my book, The Mouse that Roared Doug Gunner made the mistake of believing Sandra was weak, and for a time she believed that about herself. Often it takes a tragedy or very unfortunate circumstances to bring out the mite of a person. Remember the saying, “Never corner a mouse, they will come out fighting?” This holds true to my character Sandra so derived the title of the book The Mouse That Roared.
Irene: In most books, whether they are fiction or nonfiction, there is some type of underlying message. What is the main message in your story?
Dwayne: Life is defined by the decisions we make. These decisions not only affect us as individuals but many times those that we care and love also. With life bad decisions are sometimes made that will, in essence, determine our destiny and fate. Other messages my book conveys is the importance of friendship and solidarity, that was magnified in the relationship of Sandra, Pamela and Rose. Finally, in life at least once we as individuals will lose something we care for and love deeply and will be forced to make a choice to either crumble in the face of adversity or find the strength, courage, and determination to stand up eight times after being knocked down seven and fight for what you believe to be right.
Irene: Would you share with your reading audience how some of the decisions you made defined your personal life.
Dwayne: Deciding never to blame anyone for my mistakes. Realizing that I can do nothing without the power of God, and recognizing that my destiny is what I make it. Sometimes you have to stick your hand in the fire to get what you want in life. I always seize the day as if it was my last and try to accomplish what I set forth to do.
Irene: I’m told that you are being interviewed on WTLC AM1310, Indianapolis, Indiana on the “Around 2 It Talk Show” on February 7th. Please tell us more about the show and what time they will be able to hear you.
Dwayne: Yes, the live radio interview is going to be anchored by Ms. Delores Thorn at 6PM EST. Ms. Thorn is a columnist of the Indiana Herald Newspaper and hosts two radio talk shows, “Around 2 It & Book Nook”, that features up and coming new authors by giving them the opportunity to talk about their new novels. Ms. Thorn will ask me various questions about myself and the novel “The Mouse That Roared.” I am really looking forward to it and hoping many people throughout the country will be able to listen in.
Irene: What are your hopes for the future of “The Mouse That Roared?”
Dwayne: Most importantly is getting it inside the hands of all the readers who enjoy a good book. It’s difficult to put in words the good feeling I get when I get emails about how much a person enjoyed The Mouse That Roared. I met many people who have already read the book and told me how much they loved reading it. It is such a good feeling to hear readers told me “I couldn’t put it down” or “I almost missed my stop on the train because I was so into your book” Another aspiration I have for “The Mouse That Roared” is to someday see it on the big screen, because I really feel the book has that kind of feel. The book is action packed and reads like you are watching a movie.
Irene: Is there anything else that you would like your reading audience to know about your and your book?
Dwayne: Just that from the first word I typed inside my basement until this day has been one of the most exuberant rides of my life that has impacted me in so many positive ways. “The Mouse That Roared” comes from my heart and soul, for anyone who spends their hard earned money to purchase it please understand I truly thank you and please don’t hesitate to tell me how it made you feel. To the readers, you all will hear from Dwayne Murray, Sr. soon!

You’ve got the bright ideas and the smart people, and the
market is just ready for you. But why hasn’t your business
taken off as you predicted? Maybe the problem is in your
execution. What does it really take to get a business
going? You need the right people combined with realistic
strategies to create effective operating procedures. Let
Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan tell you how.
A business leader’s most important job is the execution of
plans, the “detail work,” making sure that the staff is
getting results. This is the sort of responsibility that
cannot be delegated. It is the leader’s primary duty to see
that every member of the team is carrying out his part
of the big plan to ensure the whole company’s success.
There are no excuses for failure: the market will always
be tough. What spells the difference between successes and
failures is the ability to execute plans.
Too often, too much intellectualizing and philosophy occurs
at the planning level. The leaders are busy with their
dreams and plans for success but there is little focus on
implementation, thus the promised result is not delivered.
The emphasis on execution as an integral part of the
business process has not received enough attention in terms
of accumulated knowledge and literature.
The Building Blocks of Execution
The Leader’s Seven Essential Behaviors
1. Know Your People and Your Business.
2. Insist on Realism.
3. Set Clear Goals and Priorities.
4. Follow Through.
5. Reward the Doers.
6. Expand People’s Capabilities through Coaching.
7. Know Yourself.
Creating the Framework for Cultural Change
You can’t just institute changes for the sake of shaking
things up at your company. Your changes must be geared
towards getting results. Be specific: what sort of
behavior is acceptable in your company? What’s unacceptable? Change must begin at the top-level, to set an example down the line. Don’t just expect it to happen either. Reward successful implementation of your plans to instigate change.
The Job No Leader Should Delegate—Having the Right People in the Right Jobs
Hiring the right people is as important as planning ahead; you need people who are not only capable, but also full of potential for growth as your business expands. Take time to focus on your staff, because in effect your business is in their hands. Take time to develop your staff’s leadership capabilities so that they can bring results to your plans and visions. Assess individual capabilities and determine if you can further develop your employee through training, coaching
and exposure, or if he’s better off elsewhere. If you can properly develop your people, you should be able to fill top administrative posts from within. Hire a talented person and she will hire a talented person.
The Processes of Execution
A. Linking People to Strategy and Operations
Break your strategy down into manageable near-, medium- and long-term goals. Determine kinds of skills you need for the upcoming goals and start laying the foundations early. Then design an action plan for each step of your big plan.
B. Developing the Leadership Pipeline Through Continuous Improvement, Succession Depth and Reducing Retention Risk
Meeting your goals depends on the quality of the people you have. Assess today those who can be leaders in the future through the following: The Leadership Assessment Summary, The Continuous Improvement Summary, Succession Depth, and Reducing Retention Risk Analysis.
C. Dealing with Non-performers
Non-performers are people who aren’t meeting their established goals. This does not mean that they’re unqualified or incapable. It just means they aren’t performing at the level required for your company’s success. Sometimes you just need to coach a person to get them better acquainted with a job. Sometimes they just need to be transferred to another division or responsibility that’s better suited to their capabilities. Other times there’s no choice but to let him go. However, do so in a manner that allows the person to keep his dignity.
D. Linking HR to Business Results
The role of the HR department in a company is different now. The HR function must set out to fill the positions that are and will be important as projects and plans progress over the upcoming months—even years. Use the HR division to keep track of your company’s top people across the whole organization, to see who can be groomed, or even promoted already, for key positions. HR should not only be able to assess people in their current jobs but also the people below them—if one person is to be promoted, someone should be adequately qualified to fill the upcoming void.
Examine all your strategies and determine the sorts of skills you need for these plans. If you can’t develop the right people in time, determine if you need to hire from outside. Identify which jobs are critical, and which ones will be critical down the line. Are they filled with the right people? Monitor also the top positions in the company and spell out criteria for filling them. If there is a sudden vacancy, is there someone you haven’t considered who might be more than qualified? If you know your people and their capabilities, filling the vacancy
should be a small problem, especially if you’ve done your
job in developing them for leadership.
The Importance of Hows
Even brilliant strategies are bound to fail if not grounded in realities—regarding the competition, the capabilities of the company’s own people, the market, the product offerings. When creating strategies, consider not only the current realities of all relevant factors, but also unexpected—if unlikely—turns of events. There must always be backup plans, or at least people who can quickly think up alternative plans to make the best of
a botched situation. Adaptability to change should always be a consideration: constantly review your plan to see if it is being executed properly, if current and future steps are still feasible, and if the people in charge are still getting results.
Building the Operating Plan
1. Set the targets: Keep your targets realistic. Base them on track records and histories.
2. Develop action and contingency plans: Study the possible outcomes that might leave the company most vulnerable and base your contingency plan on that. In other words, plan for the worst.
3. Get agreement and closure from all participants: Communicate agreed-upon goals to the people concerned after the meeting, to reiterate your expectations and what they promised to deliver.
Outcomes of the Operations Process
Think carefully: what does your business want to achieve? Think of this vis-à-vis what your company is likely to achieve. Watch how the operations affect your company, especially for the need to reallocate resources. Conduct quarterly reviews to see if you’re still on track, who’s keeping you there, and if you
should even be there in the first place.

The advantages of being an e-Book writer or publisher
All well known experts have agreed that informational products
especially eBooks are without any doubt the number one home
based business opportunity. They are much easier to create than
one may think. Everyone can create an ebook and make big profit
from selling it online. Here are some of the benefits of writing
and publishing your own ebook: You profit 100% from
every sale you made. You do not have an intermediate publisher
as in the traditional world to share your profits with.
The complete work control is established. You are your
own boss and there is no one to report to. You decide what to
write and when to write it. Your credibility online
increases. Once you put your ideas and advices in an eBook for
people to buy and read you’re selling yourself as an expert they
can trust and respect. When people trust you and respect you
they are more likely to buy from you. An e-book sells
all the time - 24 x 7, even when you’re sleeping or on a
vacation. People can visit your web site to buy and download
your e-Book almost instantly. You’ve no hassles like
inventory, packaging and shipping. There are absolutely
no start-up risks. Unlike any other products, an eBook can be
produced inexpensively. It doesn’t require expensive materials
or equipment. There is no limit on the number of e-Books
you can create. Once you know how nothing can stop you.
People will buy from you because they can have the
information they are searching for within a minutes. You
can earn a living from your hobbies and interests. You
can start immediately, even in your spare time. High
profit potential. Customers perceive your ebook as being highly
valuable so you can charge more for it than you might expect.
flexibility. You can use ebook for multiple purposes.
For example you can offer it as free gift to entice customers to
purchase from you. Create long term profits. Fill your
ebook with affiliates links, this encourages users of them to
revisit and purchase others products that you sell. ebooks are
great long term profit generators.

Based on a mammoth research study conducted by the Gallup
Organization involving 80,000 managers across different
industries, this book explores the challenge of many
companies - attaining, keeping and measuring employee
satisfaction. Discover how great managers attract, hire,
focus, and keep their most talented employees!
Key Ideas:
1. The best managers reject conventional wisdom.
2. The best managers treat every employee as an individual.
3. The best managers never try to fix weaknesses; instead
they focus on strengths and talent.
4. The best managers know they are on stage everyday. They
know their people are watching every move they make.
5. Measuring employee satisfaction is vital information for
your investors.
6. People leave their immediate managers, not the companies
they work for.
7. The best managers are those that build a work environment
where the employees answer positively to these 12 Questions:
a. Do I know what is expected of me at work?
b. Do I have the materials and equipment I need to do my
work right?
c. At work, do I have the opportunity to do what I do best
everyday?
d. In the last seven days, have I received recognition or
praise for doing good work?
e. Does my supervisor or someone at work seem to care about
me as a person?
f. Is there someone at work who encourages my development?
g. At work, do my opinions seem to count?
h. Does the mission/purpose of my company make me feel my
job is important?
i. Are my co-workers committed to doing quality work?
j. Do I have a best friend at work?
k. In the last six months, has someone at work talked to me
about my progress?
l. This last year, have I had the opportunity at work to
learn and grow?
The Gallup study showed that those companies that reflected
positive responses to the 12 questions profited more, were
more productive as business units, retained more employees
per year, and satisfied more customers.
Without satisfying an employee’s basic needs first, a manager
can never expect the employee to give stellar performance.
The basic needs are: knowing what is expected of the employee
at work, giving her the equipment and support to do her work
right, and answering her basic questions of self-worth and
self-esteem by giving praise for good work and caring about
her development as a person.
The great manager mantra is don’t try to put in what was
left out; instead draw out what was left in. You must hire
for talent, and hone that talent into outstanding
performance.
More wisdom in a nutshell from First, Break All the Rules:
1. Know what can be taught, and what requires a natural
talent.
2. Set the right outcomes, not steps. Standardize the end
but not the means. As long as the means are within the
company’s legal boundaries and industry standards, let the
employee use his own style to deliver the result or outcome
you want.
3. Motivate by focusing on strengths, not weaknesses.
4. Casting is important, if an employee is not performing
at excellence, maybe she is not cast in the right role.
5. Every role is noble, respect it enough to hire for
talent to match.
6. A manager must excel in the art of the interview. See if
the candidate’s recurring patterns of behavior match the
role he is to fulfill. Ask open-ended questions and let
him talk. Listen for specifics.
7. Find ways to measure, count, and reward outcomes.
8. Spend time with your best people. Give constant feedback.
If you can’t spend an hour every quarter talking to an
employee, then you shouldn’t be a manager.
9. There are many ways of alleviating a problem or non-talent.
Devise a support system, find a complementary partner for him,
or an alternative role.
10. Do not promote someone until he reaches his level of
incompetence; simply offer bigger rewards within the same
range of his work. It is better to have an excellent highly
paid waitress or bartender on your team than promote him or
her to a poor starting-level bar manager.
11. Some homework to do: Study the best managers in the
company and revise training to incorporate what they know.
Send your talented people to learn new skills or knowledge.
Change recruiting practices to hire for talent, revise
employee job descriptions and qualifications.

Well designed professional looking e-book covers do much, much more than show the title of the book. An e-book cover can be a powerful attention grabbing sales tool. If you are currently promoting an e-book on your web site and don’t have an e-book cover to promote it, you’re losing money.
Believe it or not, people DO judge a book by its cover. If you’ve got no cover, only words describing the book, you’re losing many potential buyers. If you’ve got an e-book cover with the title and a background cover only, you’re losing money.
As with any sales or marketing effort there are three things you need to keep in mind when designing your e-book cover. #1) You identify a desire or fear your prospect has and have come up with a solution (your e-book) People buy based upon emotions, not logic. #2) Next you make your prospect a promise to have him reach his desire or eliminate his fear. You want to have him picture his desires being met. (This is where the e-book cover goes to work.) and, #3) you make him an offer to purchase the solution to his desire or fear.
The e-book cover should make your prospect visualize reaping the benefits contained in the book. The word, the picture, the colors all should be set to intensify the emotion of reaching his desire or calming his fear. They should work together to bring a unique offer that can’t be achieved unless they have your e-book. The E-book cover will then be an immediate call to action. A call to action that is easily perceived and acted upon.
Creating an e-book cover that acts as described above will:
Lend credibility to your product
Help establish trust with your prospects
Increase perceived value
Make your e-book look like a “real” tangible book that people can see and feel
Whenever you look at your e-book cover, ask yourself these questions:
Does it adequately paint the picture of the desire of your prospect?
Does it calm his fear?
Does it fill his need?
Does it intensely attract your attention?
Don’t just settle for minimal returns on your e-book. Applying the concepts discussed here will increase your profits.

When you begin marketing your ebook on the Internet, you can dramatically increase your sales with an affiliate program. An affiliate program will enable you to recruit an entire sales force to market your ebook for you. The great thing about having an affiliate program is that your affiliates work for you on a commission basis. They are paid a specified percentage for each sale they make. If they don’t make any sales, they won’t get paid.
The key to obtaining affiliates is to offer a nice commission for each sale. The higher the commissions, the more affiliates you’ll recruit.
There are thousands of affiliate programs on the Internet. In order to be successful, you must sell your affiliate program just like your product. In other words, your affiliate letter should be written like a sales letter. You must persuade your visitors to join your affiliate program by packing your affiliate sales letter with benefits. Tell them exactly what your affiliate program will do for them, how much commission they will receive and make the sign-up process simple.
Setting Up Your Affiliate Program
When you’re ready to set up your affiliate program, there are basically two options. The first option is to purchase an affiliate software program. Affiliate software will track your affiliate sales and enable your affiliates to view their stats. This option requires that you run your affiliate program and you are responsible for accepting payment and sending out commission checks.
The second option is to use a third party affiliate tracking company to run your affiliate program for you. These companies will track your affiliate sales, enable your affiliates to check their stats and send out commission checks for you.

Increasing Affiliate Sales
The key to developing a successful affiliate team is to keep your affiliates motivated. Set up an opt-in list to enable them to subscribe and receive new promotional methods, sales letters and articles to assist them in making more sales. This will not only increase their sales, but it will also enable you to keep in contact with your affiliates and introduce new products.
Nobody knows more about your ebook than you do. Set up a page on your web site and provide your affiliates with all of the promotional information they’ll need to market your ebook. This information might include all of the following:
- Banners
- Sample ads
- Articles
- Reviews
- Sales letters
- Autoresponder courses
To further increase sales, create a sample or limited version of your ebook. This ebook should be used to intrigue and persuade your readers to purchase the full version. This can be accomplished by allowing your readers to only view a portion of your ebook. In order for them to gain full access to your ebook, they must purchase the password.
The key to using this technique successfully is to enable your affiliates to customize the sales links within the ebook with their affiliate information. This will provide your affiliates with a viral marketing tool that they can freely distribute and earn commissions for years to come.
Creating a Customizable Ebook
In order to create an ebook that can be customized by your affiliates, you must have a special ebook compiler. This compiler will enable you to specify certain areas within your ebook that may be customized. When your affiliate downloads your ebook, they will also need to download an additional ‘branding’ software that will be used to place their affiliate information within your ebook. There are very few compilers on the market that provide this technology, so make sure you look for this feature when purchasing a compiler.
Developing your own affiliate program will not only enable you to increase your sales, but it will also drive targeted traffic to your web site. Even if your visitor decides not to purchase your ebook, they may be interested in some other products your web site offers.
Take your time and select the best affiliate option for your business. If you’d rather not take the time to run your affiliate program, you may want to use one of the third party affiliate companies. This is the easiest route and will enable you to concentrate on more important things — like making more sales and writing new ebooks.
In part 9 of this series, we will focus on designing your ebook’s sales page.
